Have you ever felt like your own negative thinking Have you ever felt like your own negative thinking takes you down faster than the actual challenges you face? Car trouble sends your mind racing to thoughts of “Woe is me; my life is so stressful.” Simple allergies fill you with fears of getting Covid.

God calls us to be people of faith and hope, but with everything going on in our nation, I find it easy to feel anxious and worried instead. Don't you?

How are peace and joy even possible?

This week on FaithSpillingOver, I'm sharing about how meditating on Scripture helps us let go of our fears and fill our minds with God's love and faithfulness. You'll also find 8 tips to help you meditate on God's Word. {Link in Profile}

I'd love to hear from you too: what helps you win the battle against negative thinking?

My grocery store discounts flowers on the weekend, and I bought these over a week ago for $1.50! The small detail of buying flowers does wonders for my mental and spiritual health in January. 🥰

The bouquet reminds me: "This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:24

I chose 12 short passages to memorize and meditate on this year. My Abiding in Christ Scripture Memory Plan went out to FaithSpillingOver email subscribers last weekend.

We hope 2021 will be a better year, but I've been We hope 2021 will be a better year, but I've been thinking about how little control we have over what will happen. We can only control how we respond.

That’s why I’m setting a one-word intention for 2021: Abide.

 As we draw near to Jesus and seek to abide in Him, we can trust He will take us by the hand and guide us into the future. No matter what happens, life is sweeter when we abide in Jesus. We experience greater peace and joy, even in the difficult moments.

I wrote a prayer for the New Year and wanted to share it with you: “Lord Jesus, teach me to rejoice, to abide, and to rest in you.”

Are you struggling with loss or grief during what' Are you struggling with loss or grief during what's supposed to be the happiest time of the year? My husband and I never expected to start the holidays on a note of grief when dear friends lost their lives.

For many of us, 2020 has been a year of loss. Even if you haven’t lost a job or a loved one to the pandemic, you’ve probably lost a bit of the life you knew.

Lean in and listen to Isaiah speak a message of hope using an unlikely image: a tree stump.

"A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit. The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him..." (Isaiah 11:1,2a)
