Jetlagged by a 27 hour journey that took me and my two kids from Atlanta, Georgia to Izmir, Turkey, I sit and stare at 5 overflowing suitcases. I refuse to be daunted by a to-do list that includes checking the car to see if the battery is dead after 3 months and getting myself to the grocery store since the fridge is empty.
All I can say is : “Give THANKS to the Lord, for He is GOOD. His LOVE endures forever.” (Psalm 107:1,2)
Wherever you are today, friend, I hope that you can say it with me. Let’s give thanks together.
My heart overflows with thanks for sweet friends and family we reconnected with on our trip. I’m thankful for many opportunities to serve and speak for our Savior. For divine appointments and fun sightseeing, I’m grateful. Two angels met us when we arrived back home: a faithful friend picked us up at the airport, and my sweet sister brought us a a home-cooked meal.
I’ll be back on Monday with a fresh offering of Faith Spilling Over.
What are you thankful for today, friend?

So happy to know you arrived safely! I was wondering when you may be returning to Turkey.

Thanks, Sweet Ellen. I’m glad to be home. Hope all goes well with you this week. May God bring to fruition what He spoke to you at She Speaks!

Glad you got back safely! Interesting! We just arrived back in our place of service, just across the sea from you. We’re still getting over jetlag, need to stock up on more groceries, finally got our suitcases unpacked and put away. I’m very thankful for the time away we had and for safety in travel.

I hope you can take a few days to rest, Karen. I still haven’t unpacked my suitcases, working on that. But I got the car started. The battery charge was out after three months. And I got the car washed too! I’m missing my husband, who won’t return for three weeks, but I’m glad for a few quiet days to work on practical things.

Glad you arrived safely, Betsy. What a trip! It was so wonderful to meet you at She Speaks. I’m so grateful for the way God renewed my spirit there in the midst of so many beautiful hearts. He is good!

I felt my heart renewed too, Abby! I can’t wait for life to return to normal so I can put into practice some of what I learned. (well, I won’t wait for total normal, that would take forever! 🙂 )

What am I thankful for today? My job.
I wish I were a stay-at-home mom, so I’m often dissatisfied and wish I didn’t have to go to work. I hate leaving my kids at home while I’m at work all summer!
But the reality is that I must work to support us, and I couldn’t have a better job or a nicer boss or more caring coworkers than I do. I’m very blessed, and I am thankful. Unfortunately I sometimes have to remind myself of that while I fight off feelings of envy for SAHMs.
I’m glad you’re back safely, Betsy, and I’m looking forward to your post on Monday!

You ARE blessed, Deborah. And you’re blessing me with your positive attitude. Somehow other people’s grass always looks greener, doesn’t it? But I guess it really isn’t. 🙂 Glad you’re thankful for your job. Grace to you.
