Merry Christmas from my home to yours.
Whether you’re a not-so-organized, scrambling at the last minute gal like me, or a perfectly calm and peaceful woman who took care of everything Christmas weeks ago, I hope you’ll make time this week to sit back and savor the wondrous gift God has given you in Jesus.
May you experience the joy and peace that only God’s presence can bring, and may you enjoy fun times with your family and friends.
Yesterday our family went on our Third Annual, Christmas White Chocolate Peppermint Mocha Starbucks run, followed by a ferry ride.
I follow my husband’s Salvadoran tradition of celebrating on Christmas Eve, so we’ll have 8 friends over for dinner and our last Advent reading. On the 25th, our church is having a potluck dinner at 7:00, followed by readings and carols. Christmas is a regular working day here in Turkey, so we celebrate at night so that Turkish brothers and sisters can take part.

What a beautiful celebration! And what is it about that Starbucks drink that just says Christmas? My daughter and I enjoy it, too. We often go downtown to see the Christmas lights and walk around with drink in hand–just enjoying a little break in the crazy and spending family time together. Merry Christmas, my friend!
I miss Christmas lights. They do put up some lights here for New Year’s, but it’s not the same! Glad you’re enjoying them! Merry Christmas to you too.
That Starbucks tradition is definitely one to emulate! And that’s really interesting about having your Christmas celebration in the evening on Christmas Day to accommodate people who are working. Some of the traditions our family has are attending church on Christmas Eve (a simple lessons-and-carols service), watching “It’s a Wonderful Life” (our daughter has joined us for this tradition now that she is older), and going for a walk on Christmas night to see the Christmas lights in the neighbourhood.

We are visiting my family in SC this Christmas so we are forgoing some of our usual traditions to spend time with them, but it is so worth it. Loved seeing some of the traditions you share with your family, Betsy! Merry Christmas!
